Kristin Adams Blomquist – September 26, 1963 – June 12, 2009

KRISTIN D. BLOMQUIST, 45, of Salem died on Friday June 12, 2009 at her home.

Kristin was born in Lebanon, Oregon on September 26, 1963 the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Hansen) Adams. She attended her schooling in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon Union High School in 1981. After high school, she attended Linfield College where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. As an adult, Kristin has lived in many places throughout the Western United States. She has resided in the Salem area for the past seven years where she worked for Kaiser Permanente. Earlier this year, she completed her studies and received her Master’s degree in nursing.

Kristin loved life to its fullest. She loved serving and caring for people through her work as a nurse. She loved singing, enjoyed gardening and caring for her plants, & enjoyed doing artwork and making jewelry. She especially cherished being a mom to her two children. She has been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since December 25 1979.

Kristin met Karl Blomquist Jr while working in Yellowstone Park. The couple were united in marriage on February 7, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV. and sealed in the LDS Temple in St. George Utah on February 7, 1987.

She is survived by her husband of twenty three years, Karl of Salem; son, Kameron and his wife, Alyssa Blomquist of Oahu, HI; daughter, Karista and her husband, Sterling Peabody of Portland, OR; sisters, Michelle Brandt of Salem and Cynthia Theophilus of Lebanon.

Her family requests any memorial contributions are sent to the American Cancer Society. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is in care of final arrangements.

Kent Hampton – October 12, 1962 – August 29, 2011

Obituary

Kent was born in Fontana, California, to Irwin and Katherine (Frantz) Hampton. In 1968, his family moved to Albany. Kent attended the Waverly and South Shore elementary Schools until the family moved to the Scio area. It was during this time that Kent came to have a personal relationship with Jesus. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1981.

After graduation, Kent enlisted in the Navy and traveled the world practicing his trade as an air conditioning and refrigeration technician. After he was discharged from the service, he returned tot he home he loved in Oregon and established his career as a union trademan.

In 1996, Ken married Elizabeth Jane Minahan. The two lived in Salem, then Tualatin with her son, Kenny, daughter Amber Nicole, whom Kent adopted, and their son, Alec Irwin Hampton, who was born in 1996.

In September of 2010, Kent was honored with his first grandchild, Nobel.

Kent passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 28, 2011. A Celebration of Life service was held on Friday, September 9th, 2011 at the Boones Ferry Community Church.

Patricia is survived by her children, Kyle, Clinton and Nicole Greenwood and Megan Childress, all of Mill City; brothers Kenneth McGowan of Bellevue, Wash., and Daniel McGowan of Salem; and sisters Dona Yee of Salem, Maria Bornheimer of Albany and Margret Juhnke of Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Barbara McGowan.

Eddie Rikke  – December 24, 1962 – December 21, 2010

Edward Owen Ricke, 47, passed away Tuesday from pancreatic/liver cancer in Salem.

He was born in Lake Worth, Fla., and lived in Lebanon since 1968 attending Santiam Grade School and Lebanon Union High graduating in Portland.

He lived in various Oregon cities and was widely involved in automotive painting while in Portland and Lebanon. He has worked for Jack Powell’s Truax along with other service stations in Lebanon.

Edward is survived by his parents, Jim and Sharon of Lebanon; son Josh and girlfriend Jenny of Oregon City; daughter Taryn of Beaverton; sister Lisa and husband Mike of Tumwater, Wash.; nephew TJ of Tumwater; granddaughters Emma Rose and Kylee of Oregon City; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

David Schneider – Oct. 29, 1962 – Feb. 21, 2009

David L. Schneider, 46, of Lebanon, died Feb. 21, 2009, at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.

He was born Oct. 29, 1962, in Bend. He graduated from Wilson High School in Portland in 1981. He attended Mt. Hood Community College on a track scholarship.

Mr. Schneider married Donna Hunt on April 23, 1983 in Lebanon.

He entered the Army in 1986 and served with the 101st Airborne Division.

After his discharge he returned to Lebanon and served four years in the National Guard.

Mr. Schneider worked for Portland Public Schools, serving as a law enforcement officer for the school district for eight years. He worked locally in the lumber industry, the last several years at Bauman Lumber.

He is survived by his wife Donna of Lebanon; son Andrew “AJ” Schneider of Albany; daughter Amber Schneider of Lebanon; grandson Joseph Schneider of Lebanon; parents Phil and Rita Clark of Portland and Mr. and Mrs Tom Schneider of Lebanon; brother Tom Schneider of Oregon City; twin brother Mark Schneider of Cottage Grove; sisters Chris Wilson of Salem, and Debbie Feuborne of Portland; step-sisters Robin Walker of Bend and Wendy Bernards of Albany.

Dorian Thoma – July 19, 1962 – March 8, 2007

He was born July 19, 1962 in Lebanon, Oregon, where he was raised and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1981. He moved to the Portland area in 1986 and had resided in Vancouver the past 12 years. Dorian worked as a union drywall finisher.

He loved the outdoors, mountain-biking, camping, hiking, and skiing. He was an avid O.S.U. Beavers fan and his family was very important to him.

He is survived by his father, Donald of Lebanon, brother, David of Vancouver, sister, Sheree Irwin of Lebanon, grandmother, Elisabeth Anderson of Lebanon. He was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Thoma and brother, Donovan Thoma.
